Meet Dot Bot — Now Available on Microsoft Store
There’s something rather exciting to share from Box Signal: Dot Bot is now available as a free Windows app on Microsoft Store.
Dot Bot began as an idea for a different sort of artificial intelligence — not simply another assistant packed with buttons and features, but a friendly companion with a personality of his own. We wanted someone you could talk to, ask questions of, and spend a little time with. Someone with room to grow.
Now you can meet him for yourself.

A Companion First
One of the most important decisions we made was not to cram every possible feature into Dot Bot’s first release. There’s plenty we could explore later — voice, games, creative tools and new ways of interacting with a computer — but we wanted to preserve the simple appeal of the companion we’d made.
That’s still the idea behind Dot Bot: start with a character worth meeting, and let the possibilities develop from there.
A New Home on the Internet
We’ve also secured a new website address: getdotbot.uk. It’s intended to become Dot Bot’s own little home online, where visitors can discover the project and find his official download.
When we asked Dot Bot what he’d do with a website of his own, he described something simple, warm and a little unusual: “Not a billboard. More a room with a lamp in it.”
We rather liked that. So that’s the spirit we’d like to carry into what comes next.
Come and Say Hello
Whether you’ve followed Dot Bot from the early sketches or you’re hearing about him for the first time, we’d love you to give him a try.
